Some important notes:

  • Name - Must be identical to the name registered with the government registry

  • Website - Should point to the organization’s main site

  • Donation URL - URL for your non-profit’s general donate page

  • Root Donation URL - Root URL for team and personal pages for events. This prevents users from overriding the Donate URL for their post to a URL other than one on your site

  • Volunteer URL - Should point to your volunteer webpage where users can learn about volunteer opportunities. This URL will be used as the target for the Volunteer button (future enhancement)

  • Wallet Address - Allows you to transfer Flixxaid coins to your Crypto wallet. This is how you liquidate your in app Flixxaid coins donated by users by transferring them to your wallet, converting them to Ethereum based $FLIXXAID tokens. There is a minimum amount of 1000 coins or more per transfer.

Once a Non-Profit profile has been created. The user ID can be used to sign into Flixxaid, browse, follow and view posts. However, your non-profit will not appear in the list of non-profits that can be selected for support by a post until the non-profit has been verified.

Note: Your email address and phone number will be used to log in and if needed, to recover your password. Make sure that your valid email address or phone number is entered correctly during sign-up.

How long does it take to verify a non-profit account?

Non-Profit profiles would need to be manually verified by Flixxaid before they appear on the list of non-profits that can be selected by the user when creating a post.

Verification against the government registry takes up to 2 weeks. During the verification process, you may be contacted using the profile’s email to confirm information about your non-profit. Once verified, you will be notified through the profiles email to confirm. At which point users can view and select your non-profit for support from a post (aka. Flixx)

Can I see what videos are supporting my non-profit?

Yes. All posts supporting your non-profit will appear in the list of videos in your profile page.

Can I be notified every time a video is posted that supports my non-profit?

Yes. You will also receive a notification every time a Flixx is posted that has selected your non-profit for support. (Future enhancement)

Can a non-profit post a Flixx from their non-profit profile?

Yes. But it is recommended that you limit the number of posts from the non-profit profile and instead allow or encourage others to post on behalf of the non-profit. Considering this however, it is sometimes beneficial to post a Flixx. Some examples are:

  • To kickoff an event

  • To raise awareness around a new mission or success

  • To engage followers in an initiative or challenge

Can I convert my Flixxaid coins to cash?

Yes, only verified nonprofits have the ability to liquidate Flixxaid coins.

Flixxaid coins are earned by users by signing up to Flixxaid, viewing and clicking on ads, sharing videos, and referring other users. Users can then use these coins to reward videos on the app. Coins rewarded to videos are donated to the supporting nonprofit of that video.

You can see how many coins you have by viewing your Flixxaid Giving Wallet:

  • Go to your profile by clicking on Me in the main tab bar

  • Then either click on the Gear icon in the top right, or click on the Coins Received in the stats section of the profile header

  • Your balance appears in the Flixx Coin Balance section

If you have a minimum balance of 1000 coins, you can transfer 1000+ coins in one transaction to your MetaMask wallet, as defined by the Wallet Address set in your profile.

If you don’t have a wallet yet, create one at https://metamask.io/, then edit your Flixxaid profile and set the Wallet Address field to your wallet’s address.

Once you have your wallet address set, you can go back into your Flixxaid Giving Wallet:

  • Click on the Ellipse icon in the top right corner

  • From the menu select Transfer Flixxaid Coins

  • Confirm your wallet address is shown, and enter a min. of 1000+ coins to transfer and click Transfer

  • This will transfer the in-app Flixxaid Coins to your Ethereum wallet in equivalent Ethereum based $FLIXXAID coins. These can then be sold or swapped as with any other ETH coins.

How do I host a “Virtual” Group Event

One way to host large group events during this time is to go virtual. For example, if you use to host a Run for a Cause type event. Create the event online and ask supporters to raise funds as they would, but participate in the event virtually and share their experience. Similar to work from home, this instead would be “Support from Home”.

Here’s how you can setup such an event using Flixxaid:

  1. Temporarily set your profile’s website link to the event’s website, and default Donation URL to the event donation page. Alternatively, you can create a new profile dedicated to that event.

  2. Flixxaid allows for the person posting to point to either your event donation page, or to point to their own personal or virtual team donation page. Do this by setting the profile’s Root Donation URL, which allows users to append to a root URL their personal or team page url. But forces the URL to start with your Root URL. Preventing people from pointing to malicious or inappropriate websites.
eg. if your team pages URLs look like “http://www.nonprofit.org/event/[team-specific-part-of-url]”. You would set your Root Donation URL to “http://www.nonprofit.org/event/” which allows users to safely append their team suffix to your root URL.

  3. Optional: If you have corporate sponsors, you can ask them to support your event by asking them to advertise on Flixxaid. This will increase the ad revenue donated back to the nonprofits.

  4. Next create a video post yourself to kickoff the event, raising awareness around the event, and providing any instructions.

  5. Share with them asking for their participation using the Share button on the post.

  6. Your supporters will then signup to the challenge as an individual or setup a virtual team as they would for your in-person event

  7. The participant would then perform the challenge, say a 5K walk or run, and take short video clips of their run with messages to their friends and family to support your cause.

  8. When posting the video, the participant would append to the Root URL to point to their personal or team page, and share with their friends and family by using the Share button to email, text, or post on other social platforms

  9. The participant can continue to append new video posts (called Scenes) to the original post (called a Flixx) to continue their story.

  10. Friends and family members would view these video clips and can click Donate which points them to the participants donation page for the event.

  11. Ads would be displayed randomly while watching videos. Ad revenue that is earned related to a video would also be donated to the nonprofit that the post is supporting!

You can imagine the benefits to hosting virtual events like this:

  • No massive upfront effort to plan and coordinate the event with suppliers, volunteers, etc.

  • No large expenses for setting up the “in real life” (IRL) event.

  • Once an event is complete, you can choose to start another challenge at any time with little effort!

If you have any questions or need help starting, feel free to reach out to Flixxaid.
